About Us
ALMS is a family-owned Christian business based in Rathdrum, Idaho. After losing our home in a deadly wildfire in November, 2018, we started this business to help other families be better prepared for wildfires. Our wildfire risk evaluations are based on years of in-field observations in active and recovering wildfires zones during a previous career in emergency services.
ALMS is short for Akin Land Maintenance Service, but it has a dual meaning. “Alms” is an older term referring to charitable donations. Our business is committed to donating 10% of profits to charity. Wounded Warrior Project - Veteran Support Charity - Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) began in 2003 as a small, grassroots effort providing simple care and comfort items to the hospital bedsides of the first wounded service members returning home from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. As their post-service needs evolved, so have our programs and services. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. Operation Underground Railroad - Human Trafficking Rescue Organization - OUR Rescue is a non-government organization whose mission is to end sex trafficking and child sexual exploitation worldwide, while empowering survivors to reclaim their lives and thrive on their healing journey. The Second Amendment Foundation - Gun Rights Advocacy - The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the fundamental rights of individuals enshrined in the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. SAF engages in aggressive legal action to ensure the principles of armed self-defense, personal liberty, and the ownership of arms are defended, secured, and restored. Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation - Conservation and Hunting Organization - Since its humble beginnings in the mid-1980s, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation completed nearly 15,000 conservation and hunting heritage outreach projects that conserved or enhanced more than 9 million acres of wildlife habitat and opened or improved public access to more than 1.6 million acres, much of which was completely off-limits to the public. Dedicated and passionate volunteers generate vital funding for the mission by planning and hosting banquets and other events across the nation.
